Mother/Daughter Duo Complete 2300 KM Coast Mountain Range Ski Traverse In British Columbia, Canada

Coast Mountain Range, British Columbia – Over the course of six months Tania and Martina Halik completed the Coast Mountain Range ski traverse, aka the Coast Mountain Epic, in British Columbia, Canada. The mother/daughter team started this mountain journey on January 6th, 2017 in Squamish, BC and completed it on June 21st, 2017 in Skagway, AK. A massive congratulations to Tania and Martina for completing this epic adventure!

During the six month Coast Mountain Range ski traverse, Tania, 60, and Martina, 29, traveled the length of British Columbia’s Coast Mountains. On CoastMountainEpic.ca, they described this adventure as “This ski traverse will be f****ing hard. Over 2300 km and six months through BC’s Coast Range over the largest temperate-latitude icecaps in the world. In the middle of winter. There will be storms. Crazy biblical mountain tempests like you saw in documentaries about Everest as a kid. Our packs will be way too heavy. There will be crevasses, avalanches, sketchy river crossings and bushwhacking through devil’s club and hawthorn when the snowpack gets too low. There will be an almost incomprehensible amount of mountain terrain between Squamish B.C and our goal in Skagway A.K.” Sounds epic, right?
