Avalanche Kills 9-Year-Old Skier At Karakol Resort In Issyk-Kul In Kyrgyzstan

Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan – On Wednesday, February 28, 2018 a 9-year-old skier was caught, buried, and killed in an avalanche near the ski resort of Kapriz Karakol (Каприз) near Karakol in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan.

The accident occurred around 17:00 while the child was with her family while they were skiing near the resort. It is thought that the group triggered the slide. Two adults survived, but a 9-year-old girl was killed in the slide.
