Avalanche Kills Climber On Mrzla Gora In Solcava, Slovenia

Mrzla Gora, Slovenia – On Sunday, March 25, 2018 a 27-year-old climber was killed in an avalanche while descending 2203-meter Mrzla Gora in the Kamnik–Savinja Alps near Solcava in Slovenia.

After successfully climbing the south side, the climber began his descent and was caught in an avalanche of wet snow and dragged down the mountain.

The climber was injured and died at the scene of the accident. Celje Mountain Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to the valley via helicopter.

Slovenskenovice.si identified the victim as 27-year-old Jure Vilcnik.
