Val Badia, Italy – On Wednesday, March 14, 2018 a 21-year-old skier was caught, buried, and killed in an avalanche while skiing in a popular off piste area at about 2400-meters near the Vallon Lift at Alta Badia in Corvara in Val Badia in the Dolomites of Alto Adige/South Tyrol in Italy.
When the skier did not return home at the end of the day, his family alerted authorities around 21:00. Rescuers responded to the area via snow groomers and quickly discovered an avalanche.
