Tirol, Austria – On December 13, 2018 a 41-year-old Czech skier was caught, buried, and killed in an avalanche while skiing off piste at Hintertuxer Gletscher in Tirol, Austria.

The skier triggered the slab and was buried for 20 minutes before rescuers were able to locate them.
