Hakkari, Turkey – On December 29, 2018 an avalanche killed a soldier near the Mirgesav Base in the Semdinli district of Hakkari, Turkey.
The avalanche occurred while a group of soldiers were inspecting a failed water tank at approximately 13:00. Two injured soldiers were taken to the Yuksekova Hospital by helicopter. Unfortunately, one of the soldiers did not survive.
