Pemberton, British Columbia – On Thursday, January 3, 2019 a 42-year-old backcountry skier from Squamish was killed in avalanche in the Pebble Peak area north of Pemberton, British Columbia in Canada.
The avalanche occurred around 15:00 and it buried one person.The group was well equipped and experienced. They located and extracted the victim from the snow. Unfortunately, the skier did not survive
Due to weather conditions, rescue efforts were delayed until Friday.
