Myoko, Japan – On Saturday, January 26, 2019 a French skier was killed in an avalanche while skiing off piste on 1429-meter Mount Ogenashi near the Lotte Arai Ski Resort near Myoko in Niigata Prefecture in Japan.

The victim was skiing with two friends when the slide occurred. Other skiers and ski patrol responded and the victim was flown to the hospital. Unfortunately, he did not survive.
