  • Iranian Wins Grass Skiing World Cup – Powder – Iranian Seyyed Morteza Ja’fari won the gold medal in the FIS sponsored Grass Skiing World Cup in Iran at Dizin Ski Resort. Congratulations!
  • Couple Dies Hiking In White Sands – Outside Online – David and Ornella Steiner of France died from heat exhaustion due to lack of water in the desert sand dunes of New Mexico’s White Sands National Monument. There 9-year-old sun survived.
  • Cheers! Runner Smashes Beer Mile World Record – The Telegraph – Within 24 hours, the Beer Mile World Record has been broken. A beer mile consists of chugging a can of beer and running a 400m lap – four times. Congratulations Canadian Lewis Kent for his time of 4:55.78! That’s fast!
  • Stowe and Taos Join Mountain Collective For 2015-2016 Season – Curbed Ski – The Mountain Collective ski pass now features Stowe, Taos, Sun Valley, Thredbo, Alta/Snowbird, Aspen-Snowamass, Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine Village, Jackson Hole, Mammoth Mountain, Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows, and Whistler Blackcomb. The pass offers two days at each resort for only $399.
  • Lake Louise Expansion Approved Amid Controversy – Powder – Parks Canada approved an expansion for Lake Louise Ski Resort that could double their numbers. The plan includes a land exchange of 669 hectares of undeveloped land for the opportunity to expand into popular backcountry terrain near the resort.
  • Canadian Breaks Free Solo Slacklining Record – Outside Online – Spencer Seabrooke of Canada broke the slackline world record by 23 feet. He crossed a 210 foot gap, 950 feet off the ground without a harness near Squamish, British Columbia.
