Revelstoke RCMP Suspends Search For Missing Snowmobiler After Multiple Days Of Searching
Alberta snowmobiler Travis Brown has been missing since December 5. After three full days of searches involving helicopters, snowmobiles, and skiers the Revelstoke RCMP suspended the search as of 5 PM on December 9.

Searchers have been focusing on the Boulder Mountain and Frisby Ridge areas that are popular amongst snowmobilers in the Revelstoke area. According to reports, Brown was snowmobiling by himself on a 2014 Polaris RMK. He is believed to have been wearing an avalanche beacon. He last contacted his family on Saturday morning and was last seen near the Boulder Mountain Cabin on Saturday afternoon. His vehicle was found in the Boulder mountain parking area on December 6.
According to the Revelstoke Mountaineer, it is unclear what happened to Brown. There could have been “An avalanche incident, a debilitating collision involving a tree or snowmobile rollover, crashing and getting stuck in a tree well, mechanical issues, or just getting lost in the large alpine area.” The CBC.ca says the avalanche danger in the area was high.
Whatever happened, let’s all hope he’s ok. Scary situation.
If you have any tips on his whereabouts or spot any signs, please contact the Revelstoke RCMP at 250-837-5255 or call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
