Avalanche Kills Four Family Members In Bandipora In Kashmir, India

Kashmir, India – At approximately 4 am on January 25, 2017 an avalanche buried a residential home in the Badoogam village in the Tulail area of the Gurez sector in the Bandipora District near the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir, India. A couple and two of their children did not survive.

The avalanche collapsed the structure. Rescuers included local volunteers, police, and army teams. The avalanche victims include “Mehraj-ud-Din Lone, 55, wife Azizi, 50, son Irfan, 22, and daughter Gulshan, 19” (TheHindu.com). Lone’s other son was rescued by authorities and taken to the hospital.
