BC Ministry Of Transportation Films Avalanche Control Work On Bear Pass, British Columbia

The British Columbia Ministry of Transportation took a helicopter out to do explosive triggered avalanche control work above Highway 37A above Bear Pass on March 17, 2016. The avalanche footage is impressive.

The location of this avalanche is 26 km east of Stewart British Columbia.

Ministry avalanche technicians used explosives to trigger avalanches at Bear Pass on Highway 37A on March 17, 2016. The site is 26 km east of Stewart, British Columbia.

During avalanche control like this, the highway is closed and maintenance crews clear the snow before reopening the road to travellers.
