Karachay-Cherkessia, Russia – On Saturday, January 20, 2018 a skier is missing after being caught in an avalanche while skiing on Mount Mussa-Achitara near Dombai Resort in the Caucasus Mountains of Karachay-Cherkessia, Russia.
Eyewitnesses saw the off piste skier get caught and buried in the avalanche. They alerted authorities who initiated the rescue. Search and rescue searched until dark and continued the search on January 21. At this point the rescuers have not located the skiers
