
Gangotri National Park, India – On Tuesday, May 8, 2018 a 30-year-old Nepalese porter was killed in an avalanche near Bhojkharg in Gangotri National Park in the Uttarkashi district in the Himalaya Mountains of India.
The porter was part of a 41-person group that included 25 tourists, 12 porters, and 4 guides. They were on a trek to Kedar Tal in Gangotri National Park. The group decided to return from the trek due to heavy snowfall.
One of the porters was caught, buried, and killed in an avalanche.The rest of the group made it back to town safely.
