Hofathorn, Switzerland – On Monday, December 25, 2017 a ski tourer was killed in an avalanche on the 2844-meter Hofathorn above the Belalp ski area in Valais, Switzerland.
The skier was traveling with four companions when the incident occurred on Monday morning. The skier was dragged about 150 meters. The 39-year-old victim’s companions responded immediately and alerted authorities. Unfortunately, the 39-year-old skier did not survive.
