Bighorn National Forest, Wyoming – Shortly after noon on Friday, February 19, 2016 a snowmobiler was killed in an avalanche near Hunt Mountain Road near US Highway 14 West in the Bighorn National Forest of northern Wyoming.
The avalanche threw the snowmobiler from his sled and he hit a tree breaking his neck. The avalanche victim was identified by the Sheridan County Coroner’s Office as Levi Robert Hammond of Dickinson, North Dakota.
There are very few details about this avalanche fatality at this point. We will try to update this post as more information becomes available.
