Mont Gond, Switzerland – On January 15, 2019 a 20-year-old Swedish skier was killed in an avalanche near Plan du Fou on Mont Gond near Nendaz in Valais, Switzerland.

The victim was in a group of skiers who were skiing off piste when the avalanche occurred at 2450 meters at around 13:00. The other members of the group located the victim using avalanche equipment. Rescuers also responded, but unfortunately the skier did not survive.
