Avalanche Kills Snowmobiler Near Passo Croce Domini In Brescia, Italy

Brescia, Italy – On Friday, April 13, 2018 a snowmobiler was caught, buried, and killed in an avalanche on Passo Croce Domini near Lake Lavena in Bienno in Brescia in Italy.

Four people were riding snowmobiles near the Bazena refuge at roughly 1979 meters in the late afternoon when the avalanche occurred.

The victim had an avalanche transceiver and airbag pack. The victim’s companions alerted authorities and initiated the search. Rescuers responded to the scene via helicopter.

The avalanche measured 200 meters long by 400 meters wide. The victim was buried over 2 meters deep. He was located in serious condition and taken to the hospital in Bergamo. Unfortunately, he did not survive.
