Avalanche Kills Snowmobiler Near Sainte-Angele-de-Merici In Quebec, Canada

Ste-Angele-de-Mérici, Quebec – On January 5, 2018 a snowmobiler was caught and buried in an avalanche while riding on steep slopes in a gravel pit near the intersection of Route 132 and Hudon Road in Ste-Angele-de-Mérici in Quebec in Eastern Canada. The rider died on January 9 in the hospital.

Avalanche.ca reports that the snowmobilers were climbing steep slopes in the gravel pit during a storm. They note that the 1st rider triggered a slide at the top of a slope that caught and buried the 2nd rider. Both the rider and the snowmobile were completely buried.
