Val Morel, France – On January 14, 2019 a Dutch skier was killed in an avalanche at about 14:00 while skiing off-piste near the Madeleine run at 2000 meters in Valmorel in Savoie, France.

The victim was skiing with his 22-year-old son at the time of the accident. Both individuals were caught and buried in the slide. The son was able to escape and alert authorities.
