Nelson And Campbell Summit Utah’s 19 Highest Peaks In Under 33 Hours – New Fastest Known Time

Uinta Mountains, Utah – On July 8, 2017 Luke Nelson and Jared Campbell set a new Fastest Known Time for traversing the Uinta Mountains and summiting the 19 highest peaks in Utah. The route tagged all 19 of the 13,000′ peaks in Utah (all in the Uinta Mountains). Their mountain journey covered 22,600′ of elevation gain in 62 miles. They completed the Uinta Traverse with a  total time of just 32 hours, 50 minutes, and 28 seconds. That’s a new record. Congrats!

Their route began at 5:40 am at the West Fork of Blacks Fork Trailhead and ended at Swift Creek Trailhead. Nelson and Campbell beat the previous record held by Jason Dorais and Tom Goth by 3.5 hours.

The Uinta Mountains are an east-west mountain range in northeastern Utah. The highest point in the range and in Utah is Kings Peak at 13,528′. For a list of the 19 Utah 13ers please visit SummitPost.org.
