SNOTEL Data: The Current Western US Snowpack – April 1, 2016


March was a snowy month. The snowpack seemed to fill in everywhere across the western US. The majority of zones are over 100%.  Looks like it’s a good time to go skiing!

Let’s take a look at the snow data for the western US compared to normal. Below is the Westwide SNOTEL Current Snow Water Equivalent % of Normal as of April 1, 2016. You can link to the most recent data from the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service here. It’s updated regularly.
