AMGA and OR Team Up To Create Backcountry Skiing Video Series | Track Setting – Rounded Turns
Efficient skin tracking setting is a valuable skill to learn in the mountains. Instead of steep tracks and annoying kick turns, it’s time to learn some other skin track setting methods that are more efficient on the uphill.
This is episode three of an eight video series created by the American Mountain Guide Association and Outdoor Research. The series focuses on backcountry skiing technique and safety. It is designed to “raise awareness and reduce the risks associated with traveling in the backcountry.”
Watch as the AMGA and OR team up to bring you a short video on how to make more efficient turns while skin track setting:
Thanks to IFMGA Guides Jeff Ward and Margaret Wheeler for the tips. The AMGA and OR Backcountry Skiing Fundamental videos will be released weekly. Stay tuned!
