Mountain Guide Dies After Falling 200-Meters Near The Triangle du Tacul

Mont Blanc, France – At 9 AM on Friday, August 12, 2016 a mountain guide suffered a fatal 200-meter fall while guiding a client on Mont Blanc Massif in the French Alps. The tragic accident occurred near the base of the Contamine-Grisolles – a standard route up the Triangle du Tacul, a 3970-meter summit on the Mont Blanc Massif.
The mountain guide from Chamonix was 67 years old. He died instantly from the impact of the 200-meter fall. The client, 50, suffered severe trauma and was taken to the hospital in Sallanches. The client says that there was rockfall from above that may have caused the accident.
The incident will be investigated by the PGHM (High Mountain Police).
