Denali, Alaska – On June 13-14, 2017, 29-year-old Katie Bono set a new women’s speed record for climbing Denali via the West Buttress in just 21 hours and 6 minutes. Way to go, Katie!
At 20,310′, Denali is the highest peak in North America. Bono left basecamp at 7200′ at 6 AM on June 13, summited Denali at 20,310′ in -40 degree temps at 8:46 PM, and returned to basecamp at 3 AM on June 14. Super impressive.
