Andrew Harris Becomes 1st Person With Down Syndrome To Summit The Grand Teton

Grand Teton, GTNP – In August 2017, Andrew Harris became the 1st person with Down Syndrome to climb the 13,775′ Grand Teton in Grand Teton National Park near Jackson, Wyoming. Harris and his team summited the Grand via the Owen-Spalding Route. Congrats!

According to TheInertia.com, Harris made the climb with his sister Amy Harris and his “soon-to-be brother-in-law” Max Hammer. They were joined by members of the “the Hammer-Harris clan, Zahan Billimoria of Exum Mountain Guides, Mark Fisher from Fisher Creative and another videographer to document the achievement, as well as Climbing magazine’s Julie Ellison.
