Avalanche Kills Two Teenage Snowshoers On Snoqualmie Pass In Washington

Snoqualmie Pass, Washington – On Sunday, February 25, 2018 two teenagers were reported missing after going snowshoeing in the backcountry near Snoqualmie Pass. On Monday, rescuers found the 17-year-old and 18-year-old snowshoers buried in an avalanche in the Snow Lake Area/Alpental Ski Area near Snoqualmie Pass in King County, Washington.

The teens were reported missing by parents on Sunday night. On Monday morning, rescuers located the teen’s general location using GPS from the victim’s cell phones. The teenagers were located about “a mile and a half into the Snow Lake Trail buried in the snow” (Q13Fox.com). Both were wearing avalanche transceivers.
