  • Snowmachiner Dies In Hatcher Pass Avalanche – A Mountain Journey – The Hatcher Pass Avalanche Center reports that a group of snowmachiners triggered an avalanche on 1/2/16. One was buried and did not survive. RIP.
  • AAC President Doug Walker Killed In Avalanche – A Mountain Journey – Doug Walker, the president of the American Alpine Club, died in an avalanche while hiking Granite Mountain near Snoqualmie Pass in Washington’s Cascades. RIP.

  • Stein Eriksen Has Died At 88 – Unofficial Networks – Stein Eriksen is one of the founders of modern skiing. The Norwegian Olympic champion died in his Park City home this week at age 88.
  • The Whitewater Movie – 40 Years – BackcountrySkiingCanada.com – Whitewater Ski resort in BC is an amazing place. Here’s a cool video celebrating this cool resort.
