SNOTEL Data: The Current Western US Snowpack – June 15, 2016

The last month has been warm – almost summer like. It seems like we are seeing more mountain bikes and climbing racks than skis at this point. As we watch the snow line move upwards in our backyard and across the country, the ski options are dwindling. Yet there are some places, like Colorado and pockets of California, that still have a lot of snow compared to average. Are you still earning your turns?

Let’s take a look at the snow data for the western US compared to normal. Below is the Westwide SNOTEL Current Snow Water Equivalent % of Normal as of June 15, 2016. You can link to the most recent data from the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service here. It’s updated regularly.
