In 2016, Aaron Rice set a lofty goal of skiing 2.5 million human powered vertical feet in a calendar year. According to hi sInstagram page, Rice accomplished his goal on December 29, 2016. Congratulations on a job well done!

Rice logged 1 million vert by April 24 and 2 million vert by October 23. At 2 million, Rice set a new world record for most human powered vert in a year – beating out Greg Hill’s record set in 2010. Then with his eyes on the prize, he hit his goal of 2.5 million human powered vertical feet of skiing on December 29. Way to go!

To ski 2.5 million vertical feet in 364 days means that he averaged 6,868.13 feet per day! That’s impressive, but the best thing is that he’s still going skiing!
