Avalanche Kills Skier Near Abondance In The Haute-Savoie In France

Haute-Savoie, France – On January 24, 2018 a 37-year-old skier went missing after skiing near the Tavaneuse Creek near the town of Abondance in the Haute-Savoie of France.

Rescuers from Annecy and Chamonix initiated a search. After suspending the search during the night, the rescuers located the body of the skier in an avalanche area on January 25. The avalanche risk at the time was 3/5.
