2 Skiers Missing After Avalanche Near Areches-Beaufort in Savoie, France

Areches-Beaufort, France – On Sunday, March 4, 2018 two skiers were caught and buried in an avalanche in an off piste area known as Pas Des Cows near the La Bathie Pass near Areches-Beaufort station in Savoie, France. Despite intense rescue efforts, the pair of skiers are still missing.

The skiers, ages 47 and 49, were on vacation with their wives when the accident occurred. Over 60 rescuers and 7 dogs have been involved in the search, which was suspended due to weather. The search will continue when weather permits.
