Carinthia, Austria – On February 3, 2019 a snowmobiler was caught, buried, and killed in an avalanche near Großkirchheim near Allas near Glocknergruppe in Carinthia, Austria.

The avalanche occurred as two individuals were trying to get their snowmobile unstuck around 17:00. They were using a rope tied around a tree to retrieve the sled when they triggered a 15×20 meter avalanche avalanche that dragged them through rocky terrain. One person was completely buried.
