La Grave, France – On Friday, March 2, 2018 a 25-year-old skier was killed in an avalanche while descending the Orcieres Couloir on La Meije near La Grave in the Hautes-Alpes of France.
The accident occurred at 1570 meters while a group of 4 skiers were skiing the couloir at approximately 17:15. The victim was found buried 1.5 meters deep. The avalanche risk was 4/5.
