Avalanche Kills Skier On Monte Morefreddo In Turin, Italy

Turin, Italy – On February 5, 2019 a 66-year-old solo ski tourer was killed in an avalanche at 2100 meters on Monte Morefreddo near Pragelato in Turin, Italy.

The man’s family alerted authorities when he did not return. Rescuers located his vehicle and began a search. They located an avalanche, found a transceiver signal, and saw the victim’s skis sticking out of the snow. Unfortunately, the man did not survive.
