Avalanche Kills Snowmobiler On Stampede Pass West Of Cle Elum, Washington (UPDATED)

Stampede Pass, Washington – On Sunday, February 25, 2018 an avalanche killed a 32-year-old snowmobiler near Mirror Lake on Stampede Pass near the Crystal Springs Sno Park west of Cle Elum in Washington.

A group of five people were involved in the avalanche that struck while they were eating lunch below the avalanche slope. Three of the five people were completely buried, two were partially buried. The partially buried riders and other people in the area worked together to locate the buried members in the group. One individual was killed and several others were injured.

Kittias County Sheriff identified the victim as 32-year-old Joseph Simenstad from Issaquah. For more details refer to the FB post below:
