- Avalanche Killed Missing Hiker In Sierra Nevada | 1st Avalanche Fatality of 2015/16 – MountainJourney.com – Hiker Michael David Meyers, a UCLA grad student, was found buried in avalanche debris in California after he was missing for several weeks. RIP.

- Avalanche Closes Alaska’s Hatcher Pass Road | One Backcountry Skier Missing – MountainJourney.com – Extreme avalanche conditions in Alaska closed a road in 15 feet of debris. Liam Walsh has been missing in the area for nearly a week. The search has been put on hold until conditions stabilize.
