In over seven seasons, 3,500 competitors have competed in American Ninja Warrior. None have been able to complete the near-impossible Midoriyama obstacle course to win the $1 million prize. Until now.
On Monday’s American Ninja Warrior season finale in Las Vegas, two competitors completed the course. Geoff Britten, a 36-year-old Baltimore Orioles cameraman, and Issac Caldiero, a 33-year-old professional rock climber and busboy, both finished the entire course – including summiting Mount Midoriyama.
You need to watch this:
The final stage of the game show competition consisted of a timed 75-foot rope climb in 30 seconds. Britten went first and completed it with less than a second to spare. Caldiero went second and completed with threes seconds to spare. Caldiero’s faster speed meant he won the title and received the $1 million prize.
Caldiero has been crowned the first ever American Ninja Warrior Champion. Congrats for making game show television history!
