FBI Is Investigating An Explosive Device Found Near A Chair Lift Line In Steamboat, Colorado

According to SteamboatToday.com, the FBI and the Routt County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the individual responsible for placing an explosive device at Steamboat Ski Area in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

The explosive device was found near the Pony Express Lift Line. It was reported to sheriff deputies on October 7. Bomb technicians from Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded and “rendered the item safe.”

The FBI and deputies searched the area extensively and were unable to find any other devices. According to FBI spokeswoman Deborah Sherman, “It wasn’t intentionally placed to blow up the ski lift.”

Authorities are giving out limited information in order to increase their chances of finding the person responsible for the explosive. The investigation is sill ongoing.
