With 4 summits over 8000 meters and 8 summits over 7,500, the Karakoram ranks as the second highest mountain range in the world. With so many rugged and remote peaks, it’s easy to see why the highest mountains in the Karakarom are so appealing to mountain enthusiasts.

Besides high altitude summits, the Karakoram is also the “most heavily glaciated part of the world outside the polar regions” and is home to the 2nd and 3rd longest glaciers in the world outside of the polar zones.
