The trio skied the picture-perfect 1500-meter 50° NW Face – and according to PlanetMountain.com and Instagram (below) they skied it in powder snow. Congrats!
On May 25, 2018 Italy’s Cala Cimenti and Switzerland’s Matthias Koenig made the 2nd ski descent of Laila Peak’s coveted NW face.
In 2005, Fredrik Ericsson and Jörgen Aamot became the first people to try and ski Laila Peak from the summit, but were unsuccessful. Despite numerous other attempts, no one has been able to ski Laila Peak from the top until French skiers Carole Chambaret, Tiphaine Duperier and Boris Langenstein pulled it off. Congrats!
