In 1977 Jake Burton Carpenter founded Burton Snowboards in Londonderry, Vermont. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of snowboarding, a Snowboard National Monument will be built by bronze sculptor Jason Dreweck. The monument will be 16 feet high, 30 feet wide, 9 feet deep and will be erected on Main Street in Londonderry, Vermont.
