Three People Have Died In Three Separate Avalanche Accidents In Buryatia, Russia This Week
Buryatia, Russia – In the last week avalanches have killed three people in the Eastern Siberian mountains near Buryatia, Russia.

On March 1, 2016, a group of Moscow mountaineers were caught in an avalanche in the Valley of the Volcanoes in the Okinsky district in the Eastern Sayan mountains. The leader of the tourist group, Andrei Zaitsev, was killed in the avalanche. The group consisted of six people traveling from Orlik through the Valley of the Volcanoes from February 21 to March 7. They are now waiting for help, but rescuers and investigators can not reach the accident site due to weather.
On March 2, 2016 authorities received a report that two tourists in a group of ten from Nizhniy Novgorod were buried in an avalanche on the Arshansky Pass route in the Tunkinsky district of Buryatia, Russia. One person died according to RIA.ru.
On March 3, 2016 a third avalanche fatality occurred when a worker at Ilchir industrial base, a jade mining company in the Oka region, was killed in an avalanche. (RIA.ru)
Both of the tourists groups were registered with Russian Emergencies Ministry and were warned of the avalanche danger.
