Ama Dablam, Nepal – Valery Rozov, a 52-year-old Russian extreme athlete, died in a BASE jumping accident on Ama Dablam in the Himalaya Mountains of Nepal.

At this point, it is unclear exactly what caused the accident, but it is reported that Rozov crashed into the side of the mountain and did not survive.
Rozov is one of the world’s most experienced BASE Jumpers. He has BASE jumped form Cho Oyo, Everest, Huascaran, Kilimanjaro, Shivling, the Grand Pilier d’Angle on Mont Blanc, and numerous other mountains. During his career, he set several base jumping world records.
