Three Cars Trapped On Teton Pass Due To Skier Triggered Avalanche
According to Teton Gravity Research, on December 23, 2015, three cars were trapped after a skier triggered an avalanche on a road cut above Highway 22 below the Twin Slides Path. The cars were trapped in avalanche debris and closed the westbound lane of Highway 22 until highway patrol was able to free the vehicles. (See Photos On TGR)

The next day two snowmobilers were buried for several hours after remotely triggering an avalanche in Horseshoe Bowl on Teton Pass. Both survived, but one sustained injuries.
Much of the western US is sitting on a delicate snowpack. Please treat the snowpack with respect and take responsibility for your actions and behaviors in the mountains.
