3 Soldiers Killed After Avalanche Strikes Indian Army Outpost In Jammu & Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir – On Thursday, April 6, 2017 an avalanche struck an Indian Army post in the Batalik sector in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. Five soldiers were buried in the avalanche. At this point, 2 have been rescued, but 3 others did not survive.

The Indian Army Northern Command has deployed special avalanche rescue teams to the scene. According to army officials, heavy snowfall triggered multiple avalanches in the Batalik Sector on Thursday.
