At Least 10 People Killed In Avalanches In Afghanistan

Badakhshan, Afghanistan – On Friday, February 3, 2017 an avalanche buried the village of Barghut in the Mahami district of the Badakhshan province of Afghanistan. Most reports state that 10 people were killed in the slide and 12 others were injured. HindustanTimes.com reports that 18 people were killed and others are still trapped. These numbers may increase as rescuers arrive and conduct more thorough searches.

NewIndianExpress.com reports that 5 people were killed in avalanches in the Balkhab district of the Sari Pul province.
