For me every day starts with a hot cup of coffee or tea. It sounds strange, but my day is just not complete without it. It helps me wake up and get my day started on the right foot. That’s why I purchased a Hydro Flask 20 oz. Wide Mouth designed for coffee, tea, mate, or any other drink that I want to keep piping hot or nice and cool.
Hydro Flask specializes in vacuum insulated stainless steel bottles for water, coffee, beer, food, and other treats. It’s basically a high end thermos that’s super durable – that’s why every Hydro Flask has a lifetime warranty that covers lids, insulating factors, rattles, rough welds, and the works.
Hydro Flask features TempShield double walled insulation that keeps your hot drinks hot for up to 6 hours and your cold drinks cold for up to 24 hours. 18/8 Pro Grade Stainless Steel ensures that the Hydro Flask doesn’t retain or transfer any flavors. All materials are BPA-Free and Phalate-Free. The outside of the Hydro Flask has an easy to grip and sweat free powder coat finish that features the cool Hydro Flask logo.
All of the tea/coffee Hydro Flasks come fitted with the Hydro Flip cap that makes it easy to drink on the go. It securely clicks into place when you’re not sipping away to keep your drink’s temperature just the way you like it. When you flip it open, the lid gets out of the way. It’s important to note that the Hydro Flip cap is NOT LEAK PROOF.
Sure you can flip it upside down, knock it off of the Tacoma’s tailgate, or toss it to your buddy and not lose a drop, but it’s not secure. I would never ever put the Hydro Flask with a Hydro Flip cap in my backpack. But what’s nice is that the Hydro Flask for hot drinks is also compatible with the Wide Flat Cap and the Wide Straw Lid. Hydro Flask gives you options. The wide flat cap would be ideal for backcountry travel, but not for drinking coffee behind the wheel.
So far I love my Hydro Flask. I went with the 20 oz version. That’s only 2.5 cups. The coffee/tea Hydro Flask comes in 12, 16, 18, and 20 ounce varieties. It’s up to you to determine how much coffee you really need. I went big because I want to use it on road trips, but I also want to enjoy a bit of tea on the way to the trailhead and when the days wrapped up. And let’s be honest, it’s great for those days that I’m stuck behind the computer too.
I’m a French Press guy for my coffee, but I doubt the 20 oz Hydro Flask would fit under a Keurig machine. My Hydro Flask fits well in the majority of my cup holders in my Tacoma, but not all of them. So if you have a super small cup holder in your vehicle beware…
Hydro Flask products are pretty darn tough – except in your kitchen. They are not stove top safe. They cannot go in the microwave, the dishwasher, or the freezer. You have to handwash them and air dry them. On the trail, in the truck, and at the desk they are burly and awesome though.
Founded in 2009, Hydro Flask calls Bend, Oregon home. It’s a cool company that offers 5% Back. 5% Back is a program where Hydro Flask donates 5% of their net proceeds back to a charity or non-profit. Use your Hydro Flask’s serial number and take advantage of this online. As they say, “A better water bottle can help create a better world.” You can do this on every Hydro Flask product you buy.
If you like coffee, tea, or drinks of any kind pick up a Hydro Flask – they even make growlers! That might be my next purchase…
