While most people are enjoying the creature comforts of summer, the high peaks and hidden couloirs are still holding snow. After an epic winter season, the ski season might just last all year long! Many zones are still reporting well over 100% of average for their snow water equivalent – and one zone is well over 3000%. Based on the Snotel data, it looks like it’s time to wax up the skis, grab the glop stopper, and earn your June turns!

Let’s take a look at the snow data for the western US compared to normal. Below is the Westwide SNOTEL Current Snow Water Equivalent % of Normal as of June 15, 2017. You can link to the most recent data from the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service here. It’s updated daily throughout the winter.
