In the first part of The Explorer, Chris Davenport, Ingrid Backstrom, James Heim, Michelle Parker and photographer Christian Pondella headed into the fjords of Norway to ski big lines. Now, this group of hard chargers take the zodiac from their sail boat base to ski more Norwegian lines while dealing with an avalanche cycle and still trying to have a productive journey.

After skiing their first couloirs of Svalbard, Davenport and the crew have been boat bound with poor weather conditions and variable stability. The Arctica II travels deep into the fjords, where they witness calving glaciers, historical fishing huts and massive sea lions. As pressure builds to ski some lines, the crew finally makes it to new terrain, however their plans are compromised when half the team is pinned in a couloir during a class 2 avalanche.
